As it turns out April was a crazy month for us. Between a 10 day trip to Albania, getting sick with the flu, and trying to catch that workflow again, I found it difficult to enjoy much of the month. Despite all of this there were a few things that stood out to me and made this month somewhat bearable. All jokes aside and as gloomy as I made it out to be We made the best of this April, and we have a post coming soon on our Albania trip with all the juicy details.
For now here are my top 3 things that made my day a little brighter.
Bryson Cap-Toe Boot (Black)
Let me tell you, these boots are dope! If I had to choose one boot to own for the rest of my life it would be these. They go with everything, and make me feel so good. Honestly I don’t have the best track record for dressing up. Sometimes I don’t feel good when I try to be dressy and fall back to my comfort zone, but these boots have helped get me out of my shell. Since I bought them I’ve been actively searching for things to do on the weekend to get dressed up for. I’m honestly enjoying the new looks I get to pull off with these but the most important part of it all to me has been how happy its made my wife to go out with me feeling confident in how I’m dressed, it’s worth it. All of that aside something you should know is that they run small. More narrow than small but it’s not something a good shoe tree won’t fix. I wear a 10.5 US sizes and I didn’t have to size up, I just had the guy at J&M give them a good stretch with the shoe tree for about a week and I was good to go. The guys there were super helpful.
Far Cry 5
So I haven’t really had a lot of time to play much lately, and to be completely honest,I don’t think that there have been a great deal of games to choose from. Anyways I came across Far Cry 5, and although not the best Far Cry of the series in my opinion, I am having a blast playing it. Its really not to common any more to find a decent solo game that I can just jump into and play without having to join a lobby 15 times a sitting waiting for other players. Multiplayer games really dominate my game library and its a real breath of fresh air to just play a game by myself and immerse myself in it. This game does that for me and for those familiar with Far Cry it’s all of what we love in Far Cry in a modern day setting that doesn’t feel all that far fetched. Thinking of doing full review when I complete the game so we’ll see.
OneStep 2 i-Type Camera (Graphite)
So as far as this one, Redina had been nagging me about getting a Polaroid forever now, and I finally caved. Honestly kind of wanted one for a while too I just couldn’t pull the trigger on it. It just didn’t seem worth it. Frankly it still isn’t at $99 for the camera and $16 per cassette containing eight pictures, but i’d be lying if I said I haven’t had a blast with it so far. I think i’ve been enjoying it more than she has. When I was a kid my mother had one and she’d let me snap pictures all the time, and to this day I have a box full of polaroids from my childhood. Its just got me really excited to make new memories and capture a few of our own to look back on as fondly as I do the ones from my younger years. Granted there is a learning curve to these things. I found that the lighting, exposure and framing play an integral role in snapping a really good picture.Doesn’t take long to figure it out and once I did I had a blast. Honestly I could do no wrong with it, some pictures I’ve taken don’t look amazing but they all look great to me and I wouldn’t change a thing. Well that’s not completely true, word of advice, when you take a polaroid picture let it sit under the protective film it comes out with for about 15 minutes before pulling it out. Light ruins polaroids in development, I re learned that pretty quickly. Worth the buy if you’ve been looking into getting one.
