When I was younger, walking into Sephora was like dropping a kid off at a candy store. I had such a love of makeup and trying new things. Beauty Youtube was in full swing at that time and whatever the guru’s recommended, I had to run out and buy.
Let’s be real, I had more time and energy to explore new products and play around with makeup. Now, I find myself reaching for the same products over and over again. I look for ease and convenience; something to that I can put on in the morning and rely on it looking good.
With that said, I hadn’t realized how intimidating Sephora can be when you don’t know where to start. Like a boring adult in the candy story, I get easily overwhelmed by all the product, the bright colors, the fluorescent lights. And how am I supposed to know what blush to grab without someone telling me?
Well that’s a very mundane way to live. It’s easy to get bored and uninterested but how can I find new things I like if I don’t branch out? So I did just that and I don’t regret it one bit.
Laura Mercier – Natural skin perfector
Tried and true. I’ve been using this for the last 8 or 9 years and it always gives me that “glow from within” look.
Huda Beauty – Cheeky Tint Cream Blush
This is a new try for me. I’ll be transparent, I was drawn because of how bright it was but it caught me off guard how much color it packs in one swipe and how beautifully it blends out.
Milk Makeup – Sunshine Undereye Brightening Light Coverage Concealer
Two reasons I like this, the coverage and the application. It has a rollerball as an applicator so I’m not dragging the under eye skin, and it gives your face such a lift in the morning when I need it most.
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Strong Hold Brow Gel
This is another tried and true for me. It combs through your brows so beautifully and it’ll hold them in place all day! For those unsure, I’ve linked the mini size of this. It holds SO much product in the tube and it lasts forever.
Benefit Cosmetics – Brow Microfilling Pen
I was drawn to this immediately. Filling in my brows is the biggest nuisance in the morning and at this point I just like to fill in a few sparse areas. This has been perfect. It creates such a natural looking stroke without overpowering the hairs that are already there.
The Ordinary – Muli-Peptide Lash & Brow Serum
I’ve been a huge fan of the GrandeLash serum for quite some time but this one caught my eye at the store. I won’t be able to give a full update yet but what I do know is that it has great reviews and the price point is much friendlier than the GrandeLash.
Ouai – Heat Protection Spray
I am very guilty of not using heat protection but recently, I’ve had a focus on hair health so I figured it was the time to start. I’ve used it a couple of times now and I adore both the smell and that it doesn’t feel like it’s leaving me with a “hairspray-like” feel.
