Men’s Grooming Essentials

I’d like to preface this by saying that I don’t have a head full of hair, nor have I got a full luscious beard. I keep my hair very short most of the time, when i’m not being neglectful. So my grooming needs might not meet yours. For those of you who this does pertain to may find this to be very common knowledge, but growing up I didn’t know these things and there were plenty of resources for guys with manes of hair but not for guys like me so here’s to you guys.

Andis T-Outliner

These clippers are essential for the average man like me. They’re versatile and effective. I normally use them to shave my head as close as possible without a razor. On the days when I’m feeling especially neglectful, they function well above average at trimming away the stray hairs on my face and hairline, allowing me to hold off the inevitable next shave. I also like using them to trim my facial hair down enough to finish it off with my straight edge razor. Replacement blades are also available to insure that you’ll get your money’s worth for the product over time. With care these trimmers will serve you for years to come. All in all a must have for me. These trimmers have literally shaved hours out of my life since I can skip the drive and wait at the barbershop, not to mention the extra padding in my back pocket with the money I save.

Straight Edge Razor

Speaking of the straight edge, I wanted to get to this now, cause I know much like myself, many are intimidated simply at the idea of attempting to put a razor such as this to their own face. Believe me, I get it, when I first started looking into it I had my reservations, but trust me when I tell you that it’s no more difficult than using a Gillette fusion razor or an equivalent that we’re all used to. Sure theres a learning curve for the simple fact that we’re not used to holding a razor the way that you hold a straight edge, but it soon becomes second nature and you’ll ask yourself how you ever got along without one. Straight edge razors wisk the hair away with such ease it’ll have you wondering what kind of sorcery is involved in its creation. A common misconception is that straight edge razors are expensive. This is absolutely incorrect, as a matter of fact i’ve included the link to the first straight edge I ever bought on Amazon. It was about $14.99 and included 100 razor replacements! I still haven’t gone through my first pack of razors. All in all an absolute essential for me and again, not to sound like a broken record, but how much does a pack of razors go for these days? Save the money, buy a straight edge.

Philips Norelco Body Groomer

Okay, so I don’t want to say that I saved the best for last, so just assume that I did. This body groomer has been in my life longer than any other grooming tool in my arsenal. I’ve purchased two in the last 12 years. They offer replacement heads for this product as well so the only reason to purchase a new one is because the rechargeable battery no longer holds a charge. This groomer has to be the swiss army knife of groomers. When it comes to manscaping, its mandatory. Chest, back, underarms, legs, and privates are among the most difficult and uncomfortable areas to shave, I get it, this groomer handles it all with ease. I could sing its praises all day but instead let me give you the highlight. Of all body hair I’ve mentioned so far our privates are probably the most difficult task to tackle when it comes to manscaping. Shaving down there is uncomfortable and can be difficult to get clean sometimes sure. And personally I can’t bring myself to use a razor down there either, it’s too close for comfort. But by far the worst feeling I’ve had shaving has been getting nicked anywhere down there by a body groomer! It’s nothing to joke about, I went through far to many groomers before I discovered this groomer. Trust me its the only one you’ll ever need. I can’t sing its praises enough. Trust me, cough up the money, you won’t regret it.

Well I hope this has all been informative to you all, It’s important to note that none of these tools come without their own maintenance in one shape or form, but I think we can touch on this later. In the future I’d like to touch on some male grooming supplies to treat, and protect our skin when manscaping so stay tuned for that in post to come.
