The Only Plant That I Haven’t Killed

So since moving into our little space we had the ability to decorate it any which way we wanted. I love the look that greenery and flowers add to a room. Especially when spaces are small, they seem to brighten things up.

Unfortunately, I am completely and utterly unable to keep real plants alive. I think it’s my lack of remembering to water them or something like that. Apparently it’s important but anyway, I started buying fake ones because they’re impossible to kill.

Jay HATES fake plants but he’s not willing to water real ones either so we’re right back where we started. That was until my genius mother-in-law brought us an Anthurium Plant.

Let me tell you, this is the EASIEST thing to take care of. The directions just say add 6 cubes of ice or ½ cup of water every week. Now of course I couldn’t even remember to do that and still it lives. Like to this day this flower is in my house and it’s been roughly 3 years. The red flower dies couple of months and a new one or two would bloom.

It also grows and the leaves branch out so I’ve changed it’s pot twice in that time for something bigger to allow it more room. AND STILL through moving it, it didn’t die.

If this ain’t a trooper, I don’t know what is.

Aside from garden centers, the plants can be found at Home Depot, Lowes, Whole Foods, etc.
