Toning Made Simple With These Two Things

It takes a conscious effort to come up with ways of exercising while putting in the least amount of effort. Fortunately, I had 11 months of working from home to test out different methods of low effort – decent result workouts. One of the best things I came across was a TikTok of a woman saying the only thing you need is a pair of ankle weights and within minutes I had ordered a pair on Amazon.

I would put them on in the morning while I got ready and did leg lifts for each leg. My usual set for anything is 3 sets of 10 so that’s what I did. 10 lifts forward, backward and out to the side. I’d take them off, go get my coffee, come back to my desk and repeat the process. I tend to fidget while sitting so I didn’t put too much thought into the lifts, I just did them.

In less than a month I saw the progress in my calves, my thighs, the booty, and belly. It became part of my routine because of how easy it was to do while simultaneously working on another task. While my routine looks different now that I’m at the office, I still use the ankle weights while whenever I’m home.

In the same family as ankle weights, I purchased exercise bands and stuck to the same type of regime. I use the bands while working on other things so that it doesn’t feel too much like a task. The bands have the added benefit of arm workouts. They’re just as easy to use as the ankle weights except more versatile so you can have them at the office with you for discrete desk workouts.

Give it a shot, sometimes it’s just the simple things that can make a big difference without needing to make the biggest adjustments to your day to day.

Just as a general disclaimer, I’m not a professional trainer in any way. I’m sharing what’s worked for me in hopes that it helps others as well.
