Top 3: May

And here goes another month down! Can you believe we’re now halfway through the year? Where did the time even go?

After a disastrous start to 2018, I can say in relief that May was good to us. Nobody got sick. Nobody had terrible jet lag. We just had time to regroup and get back into our habits. This included Saturdays as errand days, celebrating mother’s day with our beautiful mother’s, and taking a few short trips just to get out of the city.

One of my favorite things to do as soon as the weather gets warm is go to Ogunquit, Maine and we were actually lucky to get out there twice last month, both times to take our mom’s to lunch at Jackie’s Too. The first visit, the food was a little off. I think it wasn’t in season or the chef’s were having an off day because when we returned the following week, it was back to being amazing. We always ask to be seated out on the covered patio where you get an amazing view of the water and it always makes everything better.

While on the way to Ogunquit, we tend to stop by the Kittery Outlets. They’re my least favorite due to the fact that we have to drive between lots, but Jay’s favorite store is the Trading Post which has a mixture of absolutely everything. For example, you can get a gun, a kayak, a dress, and a kitchen set all in one place. We always end up leaving with something every time we visit and this time was no different.

We ran across these Pendleton beach towels. I think they’re a little pricey for someone that goes to the beach maybe twice a year but for the size, style, and material, they’re absolutely gorgeous and we had to have them.

If you don’t feel like driving out to Kittery, you can find our exact ones on Amazon here & here.

Lastly & and the most recent is our day trip to Provincetown which kind of became a tour of most of Cape Cod. We went the Saturday before Memorial day, filled a cooler with drinks and snacks, ready to take on any traffic we came across but surprisingly there was none. In fact we got there in 2 & ½ hours which is pretty great. Anyway, we had lunch, toured through most of the shops and when we were done, we headed to Chatham. It was a lot cooler in Chatham for some reason but it was still nice enough to walk through the shops. Once we finished there, we went to Hyannis to have dinner before driving back. It wasn’t much but getting out of the city is definitely a must and P-town is always a good idea.
