Summertime Date Night Ideas

Summer isn’t our favorite season by far. Both of us love the fall and everything that comes with the season. With saying that we do have to admit that the summer is one of the most perfect seasons for going out on dates with so many activities going on. So we thought we’d share some of our classic summertime date night ideas.

1

Movies at the Drive In

Now, I had no idea drive-ins were still a thing until I met Jay and he took me to one. At  the time he had a pick up truck that sat pretty high above the rest of the cars on the lot, along with the giant windshield, so we had an amazing view. People bring chairs and blankets and just sit out to watch the movie.  I think it’s one of the most classic and romantic date ideas I can suggest.

Mini-Golf

Another classic that we do every single summer is go mini-golfing. I don’t know of anyone who hasn’t gone on a date mini-golfing but if the sun is setting and you’re still thinking of something to do, it’s the way to go. It brings out our competitive spirits but among the waiting for our turn and cracking jokes about the other’s skills, we’ve actually had some of our best nights to date.

Picnics

If you’ve follow me on instagram, you’ll notice by my last few posts that picnics have been our go-to’s. Can they all count as date night’s if we do it almost every night? Yup absolutely. We usually grab food, pack a blanket and Jay’s fishing gear and head over to a local pond and watch the sunset. It’s one of the easiest and least expensive dates you can think of.

I left this short because anything can really count as a date as long as you put the effort into spending time with your partner. It doesn’t always have to be this elaborate event where you have to spend a ton of money.

Jay and I have the most fun just hanging out with one another and I think that’s why we work so well. We’re the type to have more fun driving to something than doing the actually thing. What matters most is how you spend your time and in the summer you should spend most of it outside, basking in sunsets, laughing your ass at corny jokes.

As always, let us know some of your favorite date nights. We’d love some new ideas and what you guys find the most fun. I know we’re pretty introverted so it’s always cool to hear an extroverts idea of fun. 🙂
